Troubleshooting Thermal Oil Systems

Sample Troubleshooting Thermal Oil Systems Troubleshooting ManualA sample of a customized Troubleshooting manual in a fully searchable eBook format. Requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Hands-On Training

On Your Own Equipment

In Plant Survey of the Thermal Oil System

For this workshop, your in plant thermal oil systems are initially surveyed by one of our consultants. The system components ( pumps, valves, etc.) and piping connections are checked to verify that the actual system is accurate with the manufacturer's print. If no print is available our consultants will develop a schematic as he surveys the system.

Development Of The Thermal Oil Manual

Our highly trained draftsmen will the draw the thermal oil schematic circuit in AutoCAD portraying the system in a format that is easy to read and follow. Colorized flow will the be integrated with the schematic to replicate the actual suction, outlet and return oil flow. The sequence of operation of the electrical and pneumatic control valves is shown on the schematic within the various flow cycles. A detailed description of each component including troubleshooting tips is included in the manual.

In The Classroom

During the training workshop the student will be directed to draw the flow on the schematic circuit exactly as it flows through the system during both the normal and emergency modes of operation. This ensures that when a problem occurs they will have the capability of troubleshooting from the schematic.

Maintenance procedures for working on the system will be discussed in detail in the classroom.

These include the following:

  • The proper guidelines for changing a centrifugal pump.
  • The proper steps for bringing a stand by pump online.
  • The procedures for operating the manual valves when necessary to bleed oil out of the lines and to allow air in.
  • How to isolate and safely remove high temperature flexible lines.
  • How to vent and flush an expansion tank.

What The Student Will Learn

Once this course is completed the students will be able to troubleshoot, maintain and understand the entire system's various modes of operation. They will also know the location of the system tanks, pumps and valves and the proper maintenance procedures for working on the system safely and effectively.

What The Student Will Receive

Each student will receive his own Troubleshooting Thermal Oil Systems manual, Our Fluid Power Data Book and a Certificate Of Completion.

The eBook

Once the in-plant troubleshooting program has been completed, the customer can order their customized thermal oil manual to be converted into an eBook in pdf (personnel downloadable file) format. This is a fully searchable CD that contains each customers colorized thermal oil schematic flow charts, modes of operation and complete component description.

This eBook can be downloaded onto a network, control room computer, palm top, lap top, office computer and home computer for troubleshooting the in-plant systems. A sample eBook can be downloaded in PDF format here
